What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Visit

If you have been thinking about booking but feel unsure, this page is for you.

Your first visit at Axiom Chiropractic is designed to help you feel clear, comfortable, and confident from the moment you walk in.

We take the time to understand what is going on, explain what we find, and show you the best next step—without rushing you, overwhelming you, or using more force than necessary.

Your First Visit Should Feel Simple

For many people, the hardest part is not the visit itself. It is the uncertainty before it.

You may be wondering:

  • Will this hurt?

  • Am I going to get twisted or cracked?

  • What if I am nervous?

  • Will anyone actually explain what is going on?

  • What if I have seen other chiropractors before and it was not a good fit?

At Axiom, we take those concerns seriously.

Our job is not just to assess your body.

It is to help you feel heard, safe, and understood.

What Happens Before You Arrive

Before your appointment, we send your intake forms directly to your email. They are simple to complete on your phone or computer and give us a head start on your care.

This helps us understand:

  • what is bothering you now

  • what injuries or stressors may still be affecting you

  • what your health history looks like

  • what goals matter most to you

That means less guesswork and a more personalized first visit.

What Happens At Your First Appointment

Your first in-office visit starts with a one-on-one conversation.

We go over your history, your current concern, and the bigger picture of what your body has been through.

From there, we perform a thorough 5-part assessment to see how your body is adapting and where it may be compensating.

1. Digital Posture Analysis

We assess your alignment and look for patterns that may be contributing to tension, pain, or dysfunction.

2. Bilateral Scale Weight Assessment

We measure how your weight is distributed from left to right. This often reveals hidden imbalances that matter more than people think.

3. Range of Motion Testing

We check how your neck and low back are moving and compare that to how they should be moving.

4. HRV Stress Scan

This gives us a window into how much stress your nervous system is carrying and how well your body is adapting.

5. Chiropractic Table Evaluation

Finally, we assess you on the table and, when appropriate, begin with gentle corrections using modern chiropractic techniques.

Will I Get Adjusted On The First Visit?

Often, yes.

If it is appropriate after your assessment, Dr. Matt will begin care on the first visit.

That said, we do not force treatment when it is not the right call.

We assess first, explain what we are seeing, and only move forward when it makes sense.

That matters.

Because a first visit should never feel like you are being pushed through a system.

It should feel like a plan is being built around you.

What Makes Axiom Different?

Axiom is where a lot of people come to finally relax.

Dr. Matt uses the least amount of force necessary to create change.

That means your care is matched to your body, your comfort level, and your goals.

Our adjusting style ranges from:

  • extremely gentle pressure for babies and highly sensitive patients

  • low-force modern chiropractic techniques

  • more traditional manual adjustments when appropriate

In other words, you are not walking into a one-size-fits-all experience.

Your care is specific. Targeted. Adaptable.

What You Will Walk Away With

By the end of your first visit, our goal is that you leave with more than just an adjustment.

You should walk away with:

  • a clearer understanding of what may be driving your problem

  • objective findings from your assessment

  • a sense of what the next step should be

  • confidence that you are in the right place

That is the real value of a first visit.

Not just “getting cracked.” Getting clarity.

Who This Visit Is For

This first appointment is a great fit if:

  • you are dealing with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, stiffness, or stress-related tension

  • you have been putting it off and know your body is not moving the way it should

  • you want answers before things get worse

  • you want a chiropractor who explains things clearly

  • you prefer a gentler, more modern approach

If You Are Nervous, You Are Normal

A lot of first-time patients are.

That is exactly why we built the first visit this way.

You do not need to know the right words. You do not need to be “good” at appointments. You do not need to be sure chiropractic is even the answer yet.

You just need to show up.

Ready To Book?

If your body has been telling you it’s time, it probably is.

Your first visit at Axiom Chiropractic is built to give you answers, direction, and a clear plan forward in a calm, supportive environment.
